This is the classic Chinese saber, used not only by the military but also by civilians from ancient times until the 1940s. The wide, heavy blade's tapering from base to tip (the so-called distal taper ) ensures excellent balance. It's also perfectly shaped for cutting, slashing, and carving equally well. The long, cord-wrapped handle with a traditional brass pommel and guard makes the sword easy to handle. A sturdy leather sheath is included.

Carbon steel 1055
The carbon content and relatively low levels of other materials in this steel make it a very stable material, free from the brittleness inherent in most high-carbon steels. This steel is ideal for blades that require high impact resistance and is therefore often used for large fixed knives, machetes, and swords.
