Get Lafontaine Warblade - Man-at-Arms Series

Man-at-arms (maa) war sword lafontaine
The medieval man-at-arms was a brave and loyal fighter full of martial heroism who mastered a variety of weapons with great skill. A veteran of countless battles, he was often first into action, and although not a knight, he fought and trained alongside them as a brother-in-arms. In honor of these tough and devoted wandering soldiers, Cold Steel® spawned the Man at Arms weapons collection.
Compared to Cold Steels®, the premium versions of these combat-ready weapons lack the usual shiny blades and silver-polished steel elements, but the MAA series products come close in terms of quality and performance. The fully sharpened, blued blades are characterized by their unmistakable metallic appearance, which harmonizes perfectly with the black handles. When properly oiled, they reveal their inherent radiant beauty.
The Man at Arms collection offers a selection of some of the finest Cold Steel® blades, but at a significantly lower price. If you've always wanted a Cold Steel® blade but never been able to afford it, then this collection is for you.
This sword is named after its creator, the renowned swordsman Luke Lafontaine. The Lafontaine warsword combines elements of a 16th-century warsword with elements of a complex hilt longsword . These swords were not carried on a belt or bandolier, but in the hand, over the shoulder, or simply by a servant or page. They were designed primarily for battlefield use and were almost the size of a two-handed sword. They had a long, double-edged blade, elaborately designed quartz quillons and bars, pointed ends, and a closed ricasso that allowed the center of the quillons to be grasped with one finger for greater control. They were also fitted with a heavy pommel that served as a counterweight and could be a formidable weapon in and of itself.
These versatile and complex weapons, with many obvious advantages for any hema martial artist, were also prestige items that spoke volumes about the status and skill of their owners.
The Lafontaine War Sword features a 1050 carbon steel blade that has been deeply blued to produce a rich, jet-black sheen (the hallmark of the Cold Steel® Man at Arms collection). It comes fully sharpened and comes with a sheath made of durable leather and steel.
