Battle-worn ranger sword
DescriptionLOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING
First of all: this sword isn't pristine. Designed to look as if it's seen countless battles, Epic Armoury's Battleworn Ranger sword comes with less-than-pristine looks, such as rusty spots, nicks, and scratches. It looks dirty, aged, and anything but well-maintained. Second, it has character; this is most likely the trusty blade of a heroic outlaw or a ruthless assassin. Perhaps it was picked up by a scavenging orc as a stolen item after a battle, or maybe it belongs to the daughter of a nomadic warrior clan. The possibilities for using it when creating LARP characters seem almost endless.
But make no mistake; the Battleworn Ranger sword is as reliable as any clean blade in our extensive product range, and you can be absolutely sure that this hybrid sword model will give you confidence in the safety and appeal of your weapon on the battlefield. This short 60cm latex hybrid sword is incredibly durable and inspired by both medieval weapons and fantasy lore. The crossguard features an intricate curved design that protects a leather-like grip. This hilt, wide at the crossguard and narrowing toward the golden "scent plug" pommel, is ergonomic in the hand. The blade is made of closed-cell foam around a fiberglass core and finished with a strong latex coating, while the handle is made of polyurethane foam, allowing for greater detail and zero maintenance.
HISTORY
- It is considered a long knife and is similar in size and shape to a thrust dagger called a “puñal”
- Used as a personal weapon by officers
- The knob design is called the "scent-stopper" design, popular in the 16th century. In shape, it resembles the caps of old glass perfume bottles.
Quality
- The blade has a strong latex coating with a round fiberglass core
- Strong Kevlar core tip protection
- The sheet is made of durable, closed-cell foam that won't shred
- The handle is made of polyurethane foam, which gives it more detail without maintenance!
- The handle is very durable, will last longer than a latex version and is less slippery than a silicone-treated alternative.
- The handle is wrapped in leather for comfort and requires some maintenance.
- High security, approved by major organizations

Maintenance
The polyurethane handle of this hybrid weapon requires no special maintenance. The leather wrapped around the grip requires care.
Leather Grip Care
Natural leather products are very durable, but they require regular maintenance with leather care products to stay supple and extend their lifespan. Make sure your leather products stay dry when stored. Let wet leather dry naturally before treating it. If it frequently gets wet and dries, increase the frequency of maintenance.
Cleaning
Clean by removing dirt with a stiff brush, then gently rub leather soap with a clean, damp cloth until the leather looks clean. Remove the soap with a separate damp cloth to clean any soap residue, and then use a dry cloth to wipe away any remaining water from the leather.
Conditioning
You should always condition leather after cleaning it, as the soap will have removed some of its natural oils. Treat the leather with mink oil, olive oil, or beeswax using a clean cloth, gently rubbing a small amount of oil or wax into the leather in circles. Allow the leather to soak in the oil before wiping it with a final clean cloth to remove excess residue.
Latex Sheet Care
The blade of this LARP weapon has a latex coating that requires some maintenance. For this purpose, we recommend using Maintenance Silicone, which can be purchased separately in the LARP Accessories section. Epic Armory Maintenance Silicone is an easy-to-use spray that is 100% pure and acid-free, making it safe to apply. We recommend using Maintenance Silicone regularly, taking care not to spray the handle by first wrapping it in cling film. This maintains the flexibility of the latex layer and prevents it from drying out, keeping the product resistant to wear and tear.
Storage
Store your gun horizontally or on its pommel, NEVER on its tip. Use a simple sheet or towel lining to prevent it from touching a plastic or rubber surface and prevent your gun from sticking to other materials. Keep your gun in a cool, dry environment.
