Discover Gala Sword with Scabbard, 18th Century.
Full sword with scabbard, 18th century
During the Baroque period, this civil weapon was developed and became known as the court sword or gallantry sword. From the mid-17th century, it gradually replaced the rapier because lighter, less bulky weapons like the rapier were needed. This was due to the increasing population growth and the resulting lack of space at that time.
This replica court sword has an EN45 spring steel blade with a triangular cross-section, which is unsharpened. The guard and curved forend are made of brass, and it has a wooden handle.
The sword scabbard is made of wood covered in leather, with brass fittings and a hook to attach the sword scabbard to a belt.
Special Features:
- Light cutting sword
- Leather sword sheath with brass fittings
Details:
- Blade material: EN45 spring steel
- Total length: approx. 93cm
- Blade length: approx. 77.5 cm
- Weight: approx. 517 g
