The medieval man at arms was a brave and loyal fighter full of martial heroism who mastered a variety of weapons with great skill. He was a veteran of countless battles, often entering the action first and, although not a knight, fighting and training alongside them as a brother-in-arms. In honor of these tough and dedicated wandering soldiers, Cold Steel® has created the Man at Arms weapons collection. Compared to Cold Steel®'s premium versions, these combat-ready weapons lack the usual shiny blades and silver-polished steel elements, but the MAA series products come close to the others in quality and performance. The fully sharpened, blued blades are characterized by their unmistakable metallic appearance, which harmonizes perfectly with the black handles. And when properly oiled, they reveal their radiant, inherent beauty.

The Maa knight's sword is inspired by the favored weapon of many medieval foot soldiers or foot soldiers. On the battlefield, this smaller, double-edged sword was more maneuverable than many of the heavier broadswords. It was light enough to wield one-handed yet still rigid enough to force its way through unprotected gaps in a knight's armor or punch through mail! Cold Steel®'s interpretation of this lightning-fast fighting sword is crafted from expertly hardened carbon steel, then deeply blued for a jet-black finish. With its forward-curving crossguard, grooved leather handle, and weight-offsetting disc pommel, this knight's sword is superbly balanced and also looks beautiful with its blued-steel fittings.
The Maa Knight's Sword comes with a hand-stitched black leather sheath with a mouth plate and a steel scabbard.
1090 carbon steel
1090 carbon steel is an excellent choice for larger fixed blades. It sharpens easily and holds that edge, yet is still tough enough to withstand the most brutal stress tests. In short: a good all-purpose carbon steel that remains very durable even with heavy use.
