Give Comte De Nieuwerkerke Knight's Sword with Sheath, 14th Century.

Comte de Nieuwerkerke knight's sword with scabbard, 14th century

This fine knightly sword was part of the collection of the Count of Nieuwerkerke, a French sculptor and art collector. The original provenance of the sword, now in the Wallace Collection in London, is unknown. But it was probably found in France and pronounced signs of corrosion suggest that it was a river find. It is classified as Type XV according to Oakeshott Typology and dates to around 1350–1400. This timing suggests that the sword was used during the Hundred Years' War between France and England.

This replica has a double-edged blade that tapers sharply towards the tip, with unsharpened cutting edges. The handle consists of a crossguard curved towards the blade, a wooden grip wrapped in brown leather, and a disc pommel with a round recess in the middle.

The sword is delivered with a brown wooden/leather scabbard.

This medieval sword is designed as a collector's item or decorative object. It is also ideal as an accessory, for example to complete your costume.
