Designed by renowned martial artist and master Scott M. Rodell, the Hanwei Jian Chinese Sword is a weapon specially designed for the art of cutting in Chinese swordsmanship. Using a special steel formulation and heat treatment developed by Hanwei, the blade optimizes the hardness of the edge as well as the sturdiness of the blade body, making it the ideal cutting sword. Simple yet elegant steel fittings support the sword in its task and ensure a neat appearance while remaining true to tradition. Black leather over blueberry-colored ray skin ensures a secure hold. The attractive appearance is completed by a wooden scabbard, which has the same fittings as the handle.

Scott M. Rodell's martial arts career includes over 25 years of training in Yang style Taijiquan. He has trained with numerous renowned Chinese masters in the United States and China. He is the founding director of the Great River Taoist Center, located in Washington, DC. It has headquarters and branches in the United States, Russia, Estonia, the Netherlands, Germany, and Australia. Rodell is the author of Chinese Swordsmanship, The Yang Family Taiji Jian Tradition, and A Practical Guide to Trying the Cut in Historical Swordsmanship, both of which are recommended for martial artists.
