Acquire Celtic Short Sword, 3rd-2nd Century BC

Celtic short sword with scabbard, 3rd-2nd century BC.
Swords with anthropomorphic (human-shaped) hilts are rare archaeological finds. This suggests that such swords may have been ceremonial or ceremonial weapons reserved exclusively for higher-ranking warriors. Their limited length (around 50–70 cm) further supports this theory. These daggers and swords were still fully functional and may have served as complementary weapons to longer swords. The initially rather schematic handle profile took shape throughout the 2nd century BC. In the 4th century BC, the shapes became increasingly human-like, including the appearance of the head-shaped pommel.

This sword has a copper guard, a brass and bone handle, and a steel blade.

This sword is designed as a collector's item or decorative object and is also ideal as an accessory, for example to complete your costume.

Details:
- Blade material: EN45 spring steel (carbon steel, not stainless)
- Handle material: copper, brass and bone
- Total length: approx. 63cm
- Blade length: approx. 46 cm
- Weight: approx. 1.1 kg
- Includes leather case

The above specifications may vary slightly from specimen to specimen.

The steel used here is not stainless and may show slight signs of corrosion. We recommend regular maintenance of the blade, for example with Ballistol, a universal oil ideal for preserving steel products.
