In the High Middle Ages, Viking swords began to lose some of their characteristic features, such as the broad, slowly tapering blade and tricorn pommel, and began to increasingly resemble medieval longswords.
This faithful replica replaces the tricorne pommel with the Brazil nut shape and the short, thick guard element. Previous swords are adapted to the slimmer, elongated, and classic medieval cross shape. The blade runs continuously to the pommel, where it is hand-riveted. The handle is wrapped with a leather strap. The blade is forged from high-quality spring steel and tempered to approximately 48 HRC. It has a pronounced groove, which gives the sword great elasticity yet lightness. The blade tip and cutting edges are blunt and rounded. The sword is delivered with a very attractive wooden leather sheath with a wooden holder serving as a belt loop (for belts with a maximum width of 5 cm). The scabbard has a richly decorated brass chapel.
