Delight in the Colimarda Sword
Brown-tailed sword
The colichemarde entered the scene of sword history in the late 16th century, when the rapier fell out of fashion and the small sword gradually gained popularity. Its strength lay in the unique shape of its blade, which was particularly wide in the lower third and then narrowed to a point. The advantage of this blade design was that the sword could stop or deflect the heaviest blades without immediately breaking, yet was still light enough to be wielded with lightning speed.
True to historical models, in this version, the lower third of the blade, which is particularly wide, suddenly becomes narrower. The blade then tapers to a very sharp point. The container consists of a two-part decorative guard, two finger guards, a knuckle guard, a fully wire-wrapped handle section, and a matching pommel.
