Enjoy Scottish Claymore Sword
Scottish claymore sword
The claymore is a two-handed sword used in Scotland in the 16th and 17th centuries. There are several names and spellings for this sword, most of which come from Gaelic: claidhem-more, claidhmhichean-mora, glaymore, claidheamh mòr, and translated simply means greatsword .
It is a long sword with a double-edged blade and a wide, often V-shaped, crossguard with circular decorations at the ends. Earlier claymore swords often had a long, leather-wrapped ricasso.
The blade of our claymore was hand-forged from carbon steel. The sword features the trefoil-shaped crossguard typical of claymore swords. The blade extends to the end of the handle and is screwed onto the pommel. The wooden handle is covered in black leather.
The blade is not sharp.
