Claymore sword
The claymore is a two-handed sword common in Scotland in the 16th and 17th centuries. There are several names and spellings for this sword, most of which come from Gaelic: claidhem-more, claidhmhichean-mora, glaymore, claidheamh mòr, and simply meaning greatsword . It is a longsword with a double-edged blade and a wide, often V-shaped crossguard with circular decorations at the ends. Earlier claymores often had a long, leather-wrapped ricasso.
The blade of this two-handed sword was hand-forged from carbon steel. The wooden handle is leather-wrapped. The blade is unsharpened.
