The Greek hoplite was a tough and effective citizen soldier and defended his home city with all his might. The leaf-shaped blade of this sword dates to around the 5th century BC. It was very popular throughout the ancient world and is based on many excavated illustrations and examples. Features include a steel guard and a leather-covered wooden handle pommel. The blade is made of high carbon steel. This is one of the finest weapons of the ancient world.



Includes matching wooden case with leather sheath and brass appliqués.
