Discover the Philippine Commemorative Bolo Sword
Philippine commemorative bolo
The Philippine bolo sword or knife comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. The sword used as a template for this project comes from the private family collection of Guru Dan Inosanto. This historic example, a type of bolo sword known as a talibon , is known to have held its own against many fearsome swords over time, such as the kris, barong, kampilan, and even the Japanese katana.
This weapon was used extensively by the brave Filipino soldiers who fought on the American side in World War II and the Korean War. Of these 260,000 original Filipino soldiers, approximately 17,000 veterans are still alive today. Cold Steel® will donate 10% of the proceeds from the sale of this sword to the Filipino Veterans Recognition and Education Project charity to purchase replicas of the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor for surviving veterans and their families.
