The beautiful Viking shield offered here is made of approx. 13 mm thick plywood, covered with linen, and with so-called triquetras (also triquetras - cloverleaf or trinity knot) and elaborately decorated ravens. The bird pair is a representation of Odin's two messengers, Hugin and Munin (or Huginn and Muninn ), who lived in the are a recurring motif in the art of the Celtic and Viking Age. In Norse mythology, ravens fly over Asgard and Midgard and return in the evening to the father of the gods (also called Hrafnáss , the "raven god") to tell him everything they saw and heard.
The included shield ledge can be easily attached to the shield using the included rivets and offers enough space even for strong Viking hands. The back of the shield is painted black and equipped with a solid wooden handle.
