The Viking shield offered here is made of approx. linen plywood, and features a hand-painted stylized motif of the Fenris wolf (also fenrir , fenris or fenrisúlfr ) and a sequence of runes from the Elder Futhark (the oldest runic alphabet) spelling out his name.
