DETAILS

The Epic Armoury Viking Shield is an 80cm round latex shield inspired by the Vikings and Saxons of the early 10th century. Featuring a smooth, textured wooden face and an iron paint finish, this shield is sure to impress your fellow warriors on the battlefield alongside a Viking axe. Its slightly convex shape and iron protrusion on the front provide an advantage in combat. The simple wood texture on the shield is simplistic and offers a great canvas for creating your own custom insignia and emblems.

With a reliable and comfortable grip, feel confident that this hard latex and EVA foam shield will withstand the constant abuse of a LARP with regular latex maintenance. Defend yourself against your enemies and make this Viking shield part of your epic fighting style.

HISTORY

• Iron edges were sometimes used as a way to reinforce the shield.
• The Shield Boss , the round, convex piece of material in the center of the shield, was used to deflect blows
• The round wood style was predominantly used in early medieval Europe. It is aged using lightweight, non-splintering wood such as linden, spruce, alder or poplar.
