Get Norman Shield, Wood, Green-yellow
Norman shield, wood, green-yellow
Norman horseman's shield made of plywood, covered with canvas. The shield is painted with a green and yellow design, based on contemporary images from the Bayeux Tapestry, depicting the conquest of England and the Battle of Hastings in 1066.
There are three sturdy leather straps attached to the back. On one hand, they allow the shield to be worn on the arm, but also to be slung over the shoulder. There is also leather-covered padding on the back to soften enemy blows.
The steel shield overhang is not mounted. This must be done by the customer, either with the six supplied blind head screws or with their own rivets or nails.
At around 2850 g, this shield is relatively light and therefore very suitable for reenactment.
