The Epic Armoury Vegvisir Iarla Shield is a 70cm round latex shield that will be your companion to the farthest shores and back. Fear no storm or high tide with your Iarla Shield by your side! Inspired by early Vikings and Saxons, this live-action role-play (LARP) safe shield is carved from EVA foam to look like real wood. Coated in a layer of durable latex, it features a wood grain texture on both the front and back, making this shield truly unique and perfect for a truly immersive look. You can even find tiny sculpted nails stuck into the shoulder straps, because attention to detail is so important.

This shield has been hand-painted, with white paint decorating its face with an Icelandic design meant to aid you on your journey. Its slightly convex shape and metallic painted boss on the front provide an advantage in combat, and its reliable grip fits comfortably in your hand thanks to its shape and suede wrapping. Keep your shield in excellent condition with regular latex maintenance.

The Viking Compass

• Iarla is the Irish word for "earl," making it perfect for higher-ranking warriors in their tribe.
• Vegvísir is an Icelandic word for "wayfinder" and is a magical symbol that, when carried, meant you would never get lost in bad weather.
• The shield's escutcheon, the round, convex piece of material in the center of the shield, was used to deflect blows.
• The roundwood style was predominantly used in the European High Middle Ages with lightweight, non-splintering wood such as linden, spruce, alder, or poplar.
