Give Medieval Boots, Armored Shoes, 14th Century, 1.5mm Steel, Pair

Medieval escarpments, armoured shoes, 14th century, 1.5 mm steel, pair

In the late Middle Ages and Renaissance, sabatons (also called sollerets and solerets , respectively) were pieces of armour that covered the top and sides of the foot. They were usually worn by knights on horseback to protect their feet from attacks by enemy foot soldiers.

This mobile and portable plate armour for the feet is based on 14th century models. The iron shoes are hand-forged from 1.5 mm steel, blackened on the inside for better protection against corrosion and fitted with leather straps on the bottom. They have no sole and consist of a pointed but slightly rounded toe, several slips (from the toe to the ankle), a tongue and a heel piece. All elements are connected to each other by sturdy rivets.

This articulated foot armour is equally suitable for historical reenactment and LARP. It is ideal for late medieval scenarios and will make your interpretation of a proud knight simply perfect!

It's a pair, so it protects both feet.

A pointed-toe version of these sabatons is also available in our shop (item no. 1064000058).

Details:

- Material: 1.5mm steel, leather strap

- Total length: approx. 33cm (suitable for shoe size approx. 44-47)

- Rear height: approx. 9.5 cm

- Width (measured at widest point): approx. 12 cm

- Dimensions of the inlet opening: approx. 11 x 10 cm

- Weight (pair): approx. 1.8 kg

The above specifications may vary slightly from copy to copy.

To ensure these sabatons have the right fit for you, remember to take your measurements with the shoes you plan to wear underneath.

The steel used here is not stainless and may show slight signs of corrosion. We recommend taking care of plate armour regularly, for example with Ballistol, a universal oil ideal for preserving steel products.
