The Emperor Series swords feature some of the most defining characteristics of Japanese sword design. Only traditional materials are used in the manufacture of the fittings. The guard plate ( tsuba ), handle ferrule ( fuchi ) and handle end cap ( kashira ) are all made from nickel silver and are expertly crafted and finely hand-crafted. The blade ferrule ( habaki ) is also hand-crafted from nickel silver and the stingray skin inlay on the handle ( samé ) is tightly wrapped with black silk cord in the traditional style. The beautiful menuki (small decorative element between the stingray skin and the handle wrap) further enhances the look of the sword.



All Emperor Series blades are made from 1060 carbon steel, tempered to spring hardness and honed. Each one is then carefully hand polished and the slot is honed to a high shine.
