Treat Yourself to The Lord of the Rings - Shards of Narsil
The Lord of the Rings - Shards of Narsil
Narsil is possibly the most famous sword in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
This mighty sword was once wielded by King Elendil until it collapsed towards the end of the Second Age in Middle-earth in the great battle of the last alliance of Elves and Men against Mordor, when Elendil fell in battle against Sauron. But with a shard of Narsil, Elendil's son Isildur managed to sever the finger with the One Ring from Sauron's hand. After losing the ring, Sauron's body was destroyed.
The fragments of Narsil were guarded by the Elves in Rivendell for 3,000 years. At the end of the Third Age, the sword was reforged and carried into battle under the name Andúril (also Flame of the West) by Aragorn, the rightful heir to the throne of Gondor.
