Treat Yourself to The Viking Cookbook

The Viking Cookbook
By Carolin Küllmer and Saeta Godetide

Hardcover, 144 pages
Numerous colour photographs, 21 x 20 cm format

Content:
We are writing about the Viking Age. The fascinating and highly developed culture of the Nordic seafaring peoples, their mythology, their way of life and ultimately their culinary skills are what inspired the two authors, Saeta Godetide and Carolin Küllmer, to write this book.

Cooking under Odin's watchful eye: What ingredients were there back then, how were they prepared, and how is Viking food cooked in the 21st century? Discover the answers to these questions in numerous delicious recipes that you have created yourself, and in addition to cooking, find time to explore interesting historical facts: What was a Viking year like? How did the Viking woman live, love, and cook as guardians of the hearth? What did pagan peoples believe in, and how can we relive their everyday life today?

Many beautiful shots of (camp) life by reenactors, early medieval artists, make it easier for newcomers to enter the world of medieval cuisine and bring the culture of our ancestors back to life in our minds. With plenty of practical tips, insider knowledge and help from Chef Saeta from Wiki, even the experienced camp actor will be able to learn a lot about the organization and equipment of a camp kitchen.

The author: saeta godetide has been on the medieval scene since 1999. saeta - 'the sweet one'. This Nordic name, which she chose after her first camp as an artist, has now become her own because she likes to cook sweet dishes. Nomen is omen! saeta, whose real name is sabine gutzmer, has her own website www.saeta.de, which has become known for its recipes and market reports.

Carolin Miriam Küllmer, known as 'The Raven', has been practising the hobby of medieval times for several years and has also been a swordsman since 2007, as she has always been fascinated by the ancient and traditional form of fencing.

In the Kassel Epee Fencing Group in Northern Hesse, the counting of the 26 Winters began, which has now developed into the historical Epee Fencing Association in Northern Hesse for traditional European martial arts. In addition to his mouth, his weapons are his longsword, the dagger, the shinai and a dussack.
