Acquire Armies and Weapons 13: The Saxon Army 1810 - 1813
Armies and weapons 13: the Saxon army 1810 - 1813
By Peter Bunde, Markus Gärtner and Markus Stein
The German Confederation of the Rhineland's army underwent a radical change in organisation and uniforms as did the Saxon troops of Napoleonic times. Based on the experiences of the campaigns of 1806/07 on the Prussian side and 1809 on the French side, a comprehensive reform of the Saxon army was undertaken.
Issue 13 of the series Heere & the New Saxon Army shows weapons in numerous contemporary depictions, on panels by Patrice Courcelle and Edmund Wagner, as well as infographics of all regiments by Dr. Peter Bunde. An overview of the history of the war completes the presentation and the magazine offers the reader a good and comprehensive introduction to the organisation, uniforms and history of the Saxon Army from 1810 to 1813.
