Born in 1412, Joan of Arc, forever known as the Maid of Orleans, was arguably one of the most remarkable women ever to grace the pages of history. Although Joan was born into well-to-do peasants, she received no formal education; but at the age of thirteen, she heard her own "voices" for the first time - voices she believed belonged to Saint Michael and Saint Catherine - telling her to rescue the Paris region from English rule. And that's what the incredible teenager did; dressed in armour at the head of a French resistance army, she drove the English out of Orleans and had Charles VII crowned in Reims Cathedral. With authentic re-enactments and reconstructions, this is the story of one of the first in history to die for Christian-inspired nationalism.
