The first of the grits included in the set is an extra-fine diamond (9 microns/1200 mesh) for polishing and refining a sharp blade after honing with a larger diamond, followed by a fine diamond (25 microns/600 mesh) for honing a razor-sharp blade for the first time. The third and final stone is the coarse diamond (45 microns/325 mesh) for quickly restoring a neglected edge. Each stone is a convenient 6” x 2” in size.
