In the late Middle Ages, the increasing effectiveness of offensive weapons increased the need for protection. In this way, attempts were made to close the vulnerable spaces between the armour plates as best as possible. The floating discs of late medieval or Gothic plate armour ( besagews or besagues in English) were often highly decorative, but were mainly used to protect the armpits and upper arms from heavy blows and blows.



The flower-shaped, slightly inwardly curved floating discs offered here are made of approximately 1.2 mm thick steel. Each disc is blackened on the back for better protection against corrosion and is equipped with a pre-drilled and firmly riveted leather strap for attachment to plate armour, armour or chainmail (the necessary cords or nests are not included in the scope of delivery).



These round steel discs are ideal for late medieval and renaissance settings. They are equally suited to portraying a variety of historical figures and fictional or fantasy characters and will make your transformation into a proud and noble knight or warrior simply perfect, regardless of whether it is for a medieval reenactment, larp, ​​theatre, tv/film, costume or cosplay.
