Most knife enthusiasts only know the Scottish Dirk from the simple decorative pieces found on stage or as wall decorations. The vast majority of them serve no other purpose.



This excellent version from Cold Steel®, on the other hand, is a modern replica of a weapon and tool that actually worked and was used in its time. The 33 cm blade is made of 1055 carbon steel. It is highly ground. The beautiful handle made of Malaysian salt wood ends in a blued crossguard and a round pommel. The dirk has a leather sheath with an especially wide belt loop.



This very high quality dirk is a great addition to a highland costume.



1055 carbon steel

The carbon content and relatively low levels of other materials in this steel make it a very stable material, free of the brittleness inherent in most high carbon steels. This steel is ideal for blades that need to have a high impact resistance and is therefore often used for large fixed knives, machetes and swords.
