From the dark and beautiful beginning, magical folk melodies and powerful melodies come together. Middle Ages a deep love for music and a great interest in foreign cultures and their history. That is why it is not surprising that the fourth sound gem of dunkelschön has not been baptized with the name of katharsis without reason and, therefore, promises depth both in content and composition.

Like all medieval folk music records, Katharsis also takes the listener into an acoustic otherworld in which cultural spaces and history marry in a new way. Most of the pieces come from the band’s own pen, although elements of history are always taken up – but only if they serve the band’s vision. Only the Swedish lullaby Kristallen Denfina and the Scottish Gaelic lullaby Quiet Lands are based on traditional melodies. Lyrically, however, traditional verses in Latin, French or German, as well as Celtic magic formulas, are often incorporated into the songs.
