The Philippine islands are widely known for their wide range of bladed weapons. There are a variety of kris sword styles, as each island, region, and clan has its own favorite. Some place more emphasis on cutting, while other styles are better suited for thrusting.

The Cold Steel Kris Dagger blade is made of 1055 carbon steel with a strong spring hardening. It has a satin finish and is delivered sharp. In profile, the Cold Steel Kris features a moderately wavy blade shape with three concave curves and a long, sloping spear point, as found on nearly all Kris swords. This blade shape offers a good balance between cutting and penetrating power. The blade ends in a traditionally decorated midpiece, with the shorter part protecting the fingers and the longer part protecting the thumb joint and forearm.

The classic handle focuses on strength and durability rather than fashion. It's hand-carved from exotic sal wood, wrapped in wire, and decorated with a brass bolster. Each Kris comes with a sturdy and practical sheath.
