The Philippine islands are widely known for their wide range of bladed weapons. There are a variety of styles of kris sword, as each island, region and clan has its own favorite. Some put more emphasis on cutting, while other styles are more suited to thrusting.



The blade of the Cold Steel Kris Dagger is made from 1055 carbon steel with a strong spring hardening. It has a satin finish and is delivered sharp. In profile, the Cold Steel Kris Blade features a moderately wavy blade shape with three concave curves and a long, sloping spear point, as found on almost all Kris Swords. This blade shape offers a good balance between cutting power and penetrating power. The blade ends in a traditionally decorated mid-piece, with the shorter part protecting the fingers and the longer part protecting the thumb joint and forearm.



The classic handle focuses on strength and durability rather than fashion. It is hand carved from exotic sal wood, wire wrapped and decorated with a brass bolster. Each Kris comes with a sturdy and handy sheath.
