Delight in the Kidney Dagger with Leather Sheath.
Kidney dagger with leather sheath
The blade of the kidney dagger is straight and double-edged, tapering from the hilt to the tip. The wooden handle has a guard with two balls or eggs. Due to its similar shape, this dagger variant was called the kidney dagger or testicle dagger (colloquially balls). Hence, the original name in England was ballock dagger .
Our reconstruction is very close to these late medieval daggers. The handle is carved from a single piece of wood, and the scabbard is made of wood. The solid cowhide and decorative brass fittings closely match the originals. However, the carbon steel blade is unsharpened.
Details:
- Total length: approx. 39cm
- Blade length: approx. 25.5 cm
- Material: Carbon steel blade, solid wood handle, leather sheath, decorative brass fittings
- Weight: approx. 250 g
