As a model for the design of Cold Steels® the disc daggers ( rondel dagger ) were original medieval disc-pommeled daggers that were explicitly designed for combat use. This disc dagger variant was more of a specialized weapon than a multi-tool. It was designed for combat, engineered to pierce tough mail and textiles and to punch through the gaps in plate armor.



The long, straight blade of the Cold Steels® Disc Dagger is hollow and has three edges. It is incredibly rigid and tapers to an extremely pointed tip. It has also been deeply blued and its cutting edges have been hand polished, giving the dagger a beautiful look. The turned handle of Malaysian sal wood is decorated with elaborate hand carvings and has small brass pins, which are also decorative and provide added grip. The elegant discs on the guard and pommel have been embellished with file work and offer excellent hand protection.



Thanks to its historically accurate, hand-stitched leather sheath with burnished steel cap and mouthpiece, the disc dagger can be attached to a belt or shoulder strap and thus comfortably carried in a variety of ways.
