Japanese San Mai® blades have been an integral part of the Cold Steel® range for decades. They are highly sought-after by martial artists and knife collectors alike, and demand is consequently high. However, these luxury fixed knives are only produced in strictly limited editions each year.

Therefore, Cold Steel® Dusk Series knives are crafted with the same high-quality standards and attention to detail as classic Japanese Cold Steel® knives, except they're forged with premium American CPM 3V powdered steel instead of San Mai® steel.

These strong and reliable blades have been polished to an incredible sharpness. The handles are made of Kray-Ex™, and each knife comes with a Secure-Ex® sheath.

2020 model - the 3v tai pan® with satin finish replaces the previous cst-13q dlc coated model, which is no longer in production.

Cpm 3v steel

This modern tool steel may be a little more expensive, but it's surprisingly hard and extremely wear-resistant. It's a fine-grained powder steel. With its very uniform microstructure, it offers first-class impact resistance and excellent edge retention, even with very fine cutting edges. It's a perfect steel for larger shovels where extreme durability is required.
