This Hanwei sword is a replica of the dadao used by the Chinese army during the Japanese invasion in the period before World War II. This replica was created in honor of the Chinese victory in the defense of the Great Wall, in which the dadao and the katana faced each other in battle.

This sturdily constructed sword is designed for demanding cutting duties. The leather wrapping of the handle is designed to reflect the numerous wrapping materials used by the then poorly equipped Chinese army (many handles were simply wrapped with tightly knotted strips of cloth). A leather scabbard is included to protect the sword and the wielder, although the originals did not have one.

Additionally, each dadao comes with a poster-sized canvas depicting the defense of the Great Wall.
