Bishop's collar made of riveted round rings
The term bishop's collar refers to a collar made of chainmail that covers the neck, shoulders, and upper chest and back. It was particularly popular among 15th and 16th century mercenaries and is woven in a similar way to a chainmail hood. The name bishop's collar comes from the shape: the bishop's collar was cut very wide, so it was very similar to this chainmail.
The ulfberth chain collars are based on historical models. They are serrated along the edge. The neck area is riveted to a leather strip and can be adjusted using authentic brass straps and buckles from the late Middle Ages.
The rrr chainmail: This chainmail consists of completely round rings with round rivet heads. Each ring is hand riveted. The braid is 4 in 1.
We call this type of braid rrr (English = round r r ing r riveted).
