Known in Germanic lands as the great knife , this sword was used in ancient times throughout central and northern Europe by junkers and farmers to protect homes and houses from highwaymen, murderers, bandits and other evil figures, and to protect reputation.



Thanks to its broad, majestic blade and generously designed handle, it could be wielded with one or two hands. This made it possible to even cut through mail armour or cut a man in half with a single blow.



This version of this simple and elegant, yet particularly powerful weapon comes from cold steel®. Its blade, hand-forged from 1060 carbon steel, is so sharp that you can cut a telephone book with a single blow. The crossguard and the majestic pommel are made of blued steel. The wooden handles are riveted to the tang, which is forged all the way to the pommel.



A sturdy and beautiful wooden scabbard with a black leather sheath ensures comfort and safety. Matching the crossguard and pommel, the scabbard is reinforced with a burnished steel bolster and mouthpiece.
