While this full-tang knife pays homage to the original ZT-9 with a steel handguard, it’s not a bayonet. Instead, this versatile ZT fits comfortably in a sturdy Kydex sheath. The 0006 is named for its 6-inch (approximately 15.2 cm) blade and is made from CPM 3V, a tough tool steel that keeps an edge secure even during demanding jobs. Since this steel isn’t designed to be corrosion-resistant, ZT has applied an additional Cerakote coating to optimize its durability. The blade is quite hefty at 3/16 of an inch (approximately 4.8 mm), yet it’s still very functional. The rounded handle profile is comfortable in the hands and not too bulky, and the olive-green G10 material ensures a comfortable grip. The jimping makes it easy to control the knife with or without gloves.
