The Woodsman from Swedish manufacturer Casström is a classic forestry knife. It was designed by Roger Harrington, a British custom knife maker and seasoned outdoor enthusiast who has been running his company Bison Bushcraft for twenty years. He offers bushcraft and survival courses for individuals and military personnel in Sussex, England.

The approximately 9 cm long blade of this robust full tang bushcraft knife is made of approx. 4 mm thick, high-quality Sleipner tool steel (carbon steel) from the Swedish company Uddeholm with a Rockwell hardness of 59-. 60 HRC. It is therefore extremely durable and perfect for tasks requiring high levels of stress, such as splitting wood or so-called batoning . The knife remains light and easy to carry. With its Scandinavian cut, the blade is very stable and can be easily sharpened with a small, flat sharpening stone in the forest or outdoors. This knife is simply an excellent all-round tool for field use.

The curly birch handle is straight and has rounded edges, making it suitable for as many hand sizes as possible. It is fitted with a leather strap and black liners have been installed between the handle scales and the steel to increase the life of the knife.

The knife is delivered with a durable, welded sheath made of vegetable-tanned leather in cognac brown. The sheath features a belt loop, a drainage hole, and in this particular model, a brazier holder that houses a brazier with a visually coordinated handle.

Please note: If the blade is left or stored damp or wet it will tarnish due to its low chromium content. To prevent rust formation it should always be wiped dry immediately after use and if stored for a longer period of time and not in use it should be treated with a suitable protective oil or wax.
