The admired cold steel® The timeless, beautiful appearance and simple, functional design of the so-called US Rifleman's Knife. This rare knife was only produced in strictly limited quantities and was the first knife manufactured by the US Army in 1849. The Army was officially commissioned and acquired.



The model featured here was inspired by a historic piece in the private collection of Cold Steel® President Lynn C. Thompson, and while it is not an exact replica, Cold Steel incorporated many of the design subtleties when creating their version, allowing the original to become a historic classic!



Its impressive and robust spear-tipped blade is rigid enough to withstand much larger edged weapons. This makes it an ideal accessory for a sabre or machete. Plus, with its majestic blade of approximately 30 cm in length and its sturdy guard element, it can definitely function as a weapon in its own right! It quickly becomes clear why the U.S. Army chose it as a secondary weapon for its riflemen !



Cold Steels® 1849 Rifle Knife is hand forged from 1085 carbon steel and features a solid brass handguard. The beautiful handle scales, which completely cover the sturdy tang, are made of Malaysian sal wood. The scope of delivery includes a high-quality, hand-stitched leather sheath with a lip plate and a polished brass cover and an integrated belt loop.
