Bowie knives made their appearance in the American Civil War, which was fought from 1861 to 1865 between the northern states and the southern states, which were united in the Confederacy.


These knives were fearsome due to their large size, they had a long blade and usually a metal hand guard and were used as an effective melee weapon and tool.


This replica of this era bowie knife has an unsharpened carbon steel blade with CSA (Confederate States Army) lettering. The handle is dark wood and has a brass hand guard.


The included sheath is made of stitched brown leather.
