This chain hood completely covers the shoulder and is with the authentic square history section. We recommend wearing a hood under the chain hood.

The RM chain mail is made of rings with a diameter of only 6 mm. According to the original templates, it consists of a row of riveted rings (round rivet heads) and a row of perforated rings. Due to the extremely small diameter of the rings, these chain mail could then and now be made of steel with a material thickness of only 1 mm without losing their strength. This results in a weight reduction of approximately 30 - 35 %.

We shortened this type of braid to rm (English = roman m aille) because it was already very popular among the Celts and Romans (hamata). This ring armor mesh was in use until the late Middle Ages.
