A haubergeon (small chainmail) is a medium to short-sleeved coat of mail that reaches approximately to the thigh.

RRZ chainmail is made of galvanized steel round rings. Each ring is riveted with round rivets. The braiding type is 4 in 1.

Unlike untreated chain mail, galvanizing offers fairly good protection against corrosion. The shine of zinc fades over time and the surface becomes dull grey.
