This high-quality, hand-knotted chain mail is a so-called hauberk. This means a long-sleeved, knee-length chain mail shirt. Such a powerful chain mail shirt covered most of the body. This historically authentic cut was often extended with front or side slits to give the wearer more legroom. This means that these long chain mail shirts can be worn comfortably, even by horsemen.

Our hauberk generally has no slits, so the customer can style it individually if needed. It also has tapered sleeves that narrow around a ring approximately every 5 cm.

The RM chain mail is made of rings with a diameter of just 6 mm. According to the original templates, it consists of a row of riveted rings (round rivet heads) and a row of perforated rings. Due to the extremely small diameter of the rings, these chain mails could be made then and now from steel with a material thickness of just 1 mm without losing their strength. This results in a weight reduction of approximately 30–35%. We abbreviate this type of braid RM (English = Roman mail ) because it was already very popular among the Celts and Romans (Hamata). This ring armor braid was in use until the late Middle Ages.

Available in three sizes (m, l and xl).

The dimensions of the individual sizes are measured fully stretched.
