A hauberk is a long-sleeved, roughly knee-length chainmail shirt. Ring armour of this type was already used by the Celts and Romans and was used in Europe until the 14th century, until it was replaced by plate armour in the late Middle Ages. A chainmail shirt typically covered almost the entire body. This historically authentic cut was often widened with front or side slits to give the wearer extra legroom. This means that these long chainmail shirts could be worn comfortably even by horsemen.



Our shims are generally unslotted, so the customer can position them individually if necessary. In addition, it has tapered sleeves that narrow around a ring every 5 cm.



The chain link, by the way: This unriveted chain link is made of high-quality spring steel. Due to its good price-performance ratio, it is ideal for beginners who still value good protection and solid quality. The braid is 4 in 1. We call this type of braid btw (English = b utted t ensile w ire). The rings are untreated, so they can rust, but they give the braid an authentic look.



Our ulfberth chainmail is generally available in three standard sizes (m, l, and xl). The dimensions of the individual sizes are measured fully stretched.
