This high-quality, hand-knotted chainmail coat is a so-called chemise. This means that it is a long-sleeved, knee-length chainmail shirt. Such a powerful chainmail coat covered most of the body. This historically authentic cut was often widened with front or side slits to give the wearer more legroom. This means that these long chainmail coats could be worn comfortably even by riders on horseback.

Our chainmail is generally uncut, so the customer can fit it individually if required. It also has tapered sleeves that narrow around a ring approximately every 5cm.

The FRM braid is a European chain braid made of flat rings, which has been used in various variations and with different designs since ancient times. In the late Middle Ages, ring diameters were manufactured and used. It consists exclusively of flat chain rings. Rings and perforated rings are alternately joined together in the 4-in-1 braiding style. This weave was and is less labor-intensive than the fully riveted braid, as only every second ring is riveted. The riveted rings are riveted together using round rivets, resulting in a round, hemispherical rivet head. We abbreviate this authentic braid type FRM, after the English. (= mixed round rivets.)
