This high-quality, hand-knotted chainmail coat is a so-called chainmail coat. This means that it is a long-sleeved, knee-length chainmail shirt. Such a powerful chainmail coat covered most of the body. This historically authentic cut was often widened with front or side slits to give the wearer more legroom. This means that these long chainmail coats could be worn comfortably even by horsemen.



Our shims are generally unslotted so the customer can position them individually if required. In addition, it has tapered sleeves that taper around a ring approximately every 5cm.



The FRM braid is a European braid made of flat chain rings, which was manufactured and used with various modifications and with different ring diameters from ancient times to the end of the Middle Ages. It consists exclusively of flat chain rings. The rings and perforated rings are alternately connected to each other in the 4-in-1 braiding style. This weave was and is less labor-intensive than the fully riveted braid, as only every second ring is riveted. The riveted rings are riveted together using round rivets, which result in a round, hemispherical rivet head. We abbreviate this authentic braid type as FRM. (= mixed flattened round rivets.)





The dimensions of the individual sizes are measured fully stretched.
