Corsets were first introduced in the 16th century and were part of the undergarment. They had straps and gave the upper body a V-shape. The corset created a high waist and flattened the stomach and breasts.

In the 18th century the desired silhouette changed. The hourglass shape became modern and the corset became strapless.

Corsets are characterized by their extremely shaping properties. They are rigid and are always classified as underwear.

Corsages (or posies) are less rigid and are usually worn visibly.



Our corsage is made of red velvet and has a cotton lining. The longitudinal seams are reinforced with rods. When tied, they create a wonderfully feminine silhouette. The corsage has metal hooks in the front and laces at the back, which makes it much easier to put on. First the lace is loosened, then the hooks are closed and now the lace is tightened at the waist.

An underlay at the centre of the back covers the space that would otherwise be left free when tying the laces. The lacing strap is slightly elastic, which is very beneficial for lacing and wearing comfort.
The bouquet is of very high quality and unusually comfortable, it will surprise you.



The velvet corsage can be worn well with a blouse and skirt or over a loose-fitting dress. If you don't want an authentic look, you can use this corsage to complete your pirate, shield maiden, witch or noble lady costume.
