The design of this approximately 180cm long and 3cm wide sling is based on an original piece found on a 3-band Springfield rifle musket from the American Civil War (1861-1865). Handcrafted from heavy-duty genuine leather, the rifle sling features multiple pre-drilled holes for customization, as well as a brass snap hook that is securely fastened with two copper rivets and heavy-duty stitching. Like the original, it bears the inscription Watervliet Arsenal .

This Civil War rifle sling also fits the 1853 Enfield and many other rifles from the 1870s and early 1880s.
