Decorative gun with moving mechanism
– Not fireable –
This beautiful decorative weapon is a faithful replica of an 1851 American Colt Navy percussion revolver, also called the Belt Model because its handy size allowed it to be carried in a belt holster. This muzzle-loading revolver in .36 caliber was introduced in 1850 and enjoyed great popularity during the period of the Westward Expansion (also called the Frontier Movement - Westward Expansion movement). It was very popular among both troops and civilians. Famous users of this weapon include Buffalo Bill, Doc Holliday, American President Ulysses S. Grant and most of the Texas Rangers before the American Civil War.
Although revolvers with solid metal cartridges became more common after the American Civil War, the muzzle-loading weapon continued to be used long after the end of the war. More than 215,000 examples were produced between 1850 and 1872. It was finally replaced in 1873 by the Colt Single Action Army Revolver ( M1873 , also known as the SAA , Peacemaker , or simply Colt .45 ), a cartridge revolver that achieved cult status and became a true symbol of the Wild West.
Our replica of this legendary Western weapon reflects the dimensions of the original. Like the historical model, it has a 7.5-inch (approx. 19 cm) octagonal barrel, a single-action trigger, a loading ram and a 6-chamber rotating drum, which rotates further when the hammer is cocked. In this version, the decorative revolver combines wooden grips with black metal elements and brass details (the frame and trigger guard are made of brass, the barrel, drum, loading ram, hammer and trigger are blackened).
Our firearm replicas are for recreation and decoration purposes only. The mechanics of the revolver are fully movable, but this reproduction is not functional or capable of firing.
This western revolver is not only an absolute gem for gun collectors, American history buffs or fans of western movies and series, but also an essential accessory for cowboys, lawmen, outlaws and reenactors of the American pioneer era.
