This type of chain collar (English standards) was used in the late Middle Ages and was mainly sewn or attached to clothing (e.g. gambeson).

FRR chain link: is a European chain link, consisting entirely of flat rings. All rings are closed by round rivets with round rivet heads. The braid is 4 in 1. We call this type of braid FRR (English = F flat ring r round rivet heads).
